A poem

Photo by Jodie Walton on Unsplash

A slap, a thud,
Like a waterfall
Blood gushed from the head.

A scream, a counter,
Like elephants they warred
On delicate soil.

Push and pull,
A deadly tug of war,
Walls and ceilings crumble.

In all these,
The wind watches,
Gently comforting the broken soil.

A vow, a promise,
An elephant
Vows to do better.

Years later,
The grown elephant
Reclines to itself.
