IT’S AN OPINION NOT A FACT
Is your opinion the truth?
I don’t know if I’m the only person that feels like slapping another person who is clearly wrong about a matter but voices their opinion like it’s right. And I’m not sure I’m the only one that wants to slap another person thinking I know facts while someone else also wants to slap me because of how opinionated I can get (read that again).
Honestly speaking, sometimes, my opinions suck and I have to learn to listen to other people. Other times, even when I know they are not right, I just agree to disagree with them; it saves me from unnecessary arguments.
I once watched a movie, Love song for illusion, a kdrama and in episode eleven (11) when the rumours of the king being possessed by an evil spirit spread like wild fire and was wildly believed because of the recent plagues and misfortunes in the land, a certain sick woman was talking loudly about how it was the king’s fault even when Yeon Wol/Kyera was trying to meekly explain it wasn’t the king’s fault because she knew the truth. Nevertheless, the old lady maintained her stance on the matter and before long, like-minded people started supporting her.
This made me realize how opinionated people are.
This much is evident even on Medium where some of us write based off of our opinions, experiences and life lessons. In this day and age, having an opinion can be supported by an internet quote or something. For instance, I don’t like or support the LGBTQ movement and I easily confuse any bios with rainbows for an LGBTQ person but then, it’s a sensitive generation and I let them be. I can’t control their prerogative and ideology but I can definitely control mine and my surroundings like who I roll with, what I read and movies I watch.
It’s my opinion just like yours is.
However, I see it as BS to start howling about my opinions above another person's own. Sometimes, I do that, yeah, I'm guilty but other times, I realize that I and the other person are not the same. We have varying beliefs, thoughts and various things that make us different.
So, I'm done ranting… This post is just for rants.
And I should also remind myself as well as others that your opinion (or my opinion in this case) won't always be right but we shouldn't be close minded and uptight unless it's about matters of our core beliefs and values.
Anyways, I hope May was good to you? I’ve missed writing on this space. I’m so caught up trying to make ends meet that it feels like I’m sacrificing what I love doing most 😒 but I need money 😌 and I know you do too. Also, you need to always be ready to find happiness through forgiveness because even your parents or kids will offend you with their opinions.
