DELILAHS
This is a poem about the earth but portrayed as a woman. We can all agree that the earth is an amazing wonder that never seizes to amaze us and what other Con Woman can be used to describe her? I hope you enjoy this poem.
Divergent, old yet young,
Ever so fragile yet so strong,
Listens, gives and keeps with intent,
Irritable yet satiable with content,
Lives everyday somewhat destroyed,
Alleviates her pain, begrudged by sleepers encumbered,
Hated for her subtle deceptions;
Saluted by past and present generations.
As we all know, the earth has witnessed life from time immemorial and other activities like war, birth of diverse languages, births, deaths, pollution and other factors till date. This poem is just an attempt at appreciation of the earth.
Sleepers encumbered are dead soldiers and warriors who have fought bravely for what they believed or people whose lives were cut short in turbulent times.
Like I said, it is a Salute to Earth!
